Julian DoctorMX5 was at Gurston Down Speed Hillclimb on Sunday 13th September, competing in his MK1 1.6 Eunos Roadster.
He had a tough day, rain made first practice tricky, lots of sideways action!
Here he is waiting in the formation area prior to moving to the start line.
Waiting for the rest of his class to join him. His class included a Lotus Elise and an MGF.
On the start, being positioned with by the start marshalls.
Green Light, it's time to go!
Here's the timing as he's on the course...
And he's over the line - 43.66...
Things didn't go so well in the afternoons times runs!
First timed run was rather dramatic, with a big spin at the top of the first corner. A spectator who was watching said "I didn't know Julian smoked!"
The second run wasn't too good either, properly out of shape in the same place! Time came in some four seconds slower! Not a great day for times.
But the Mazda MX5 class plans seemed to have struct a cord with people. We had a number of enquiries and positive work bookings from the event...
